Advertising on the Internet—Sorting through the Clutter
July 1st, 2010
Usually, when a pop up appears on your screen the only thing you look for is the little ‘x’ button in the corner. However, these pop up ads are usually not legitimate ads for legitimate products. Whether the ad is legitimate or not, our reaction to the intrusive clutter just about sums up most people’s feelings about the abundance of advertising on the web. Since its creation, advertisers have been taking advantage of all the World Wide Web has to offer. However, the internet has proved to elicit both good and bad results for advertisers and consumers alike. What’s the Best Web Browser?
June 17th, 2010
Most people don’t realize how many browser options are available. Standard laptops come equipped with Microsoft’s Internet Explorer (PCs) or Safari (Macs). While these browsers get the job done, there are more advanced browsers out there that are growing rapidly in popularity and success.
Firefox is the second most used browser worldwide, falling shortly behind Microsoft’s Internet Explorer. Roping in 24.35% of the recorded usage share of web browsers, Firefox features tabbed browsing, spell checking, incremental find, live bookmarking, a download manager, private browsing, geolocation, and an integrated search system. It is very similar to Google Chrome, but showcases a different design style and a more complicated interface. The security is constantly being improved, but pop ups are more common on Firefox browsers than on Chrome’s.

And lately, this seems to mean a bit more in the way 4G and wireless internet, and less emphasis on desk-bound connections or even the latest satellite innovations.
So the focus recently has definitely been on figuring out better ways to provide service while on the move, and particularly for companies who are hoping that mobile phone providers won’t be stealing client business with the latest offerings for smartphones. It’s sort of interesting to think of the internet as something that is also available on your phone, but it is nowhere near as exotic or exciting as it might have seemed a couple of years ago. In the same manner, customers who are off the grid no longer are weirded out by the technological reaches of service like satellite internet, which is gaining in popularity places where consumers are restricted by the shortcomings of dial-up. Wired or wireless, today’s internet users have incredibly high expectations of their services by now and fortunately those expectations are beginning to be met and even exceeded…
Wireless has, of course, been one of the major expectations of modern internet users, and through the kinds of services being provided by networks such as that of CLEAR 4G Internet the wireless path is now much more reliable and viable for all sorts of users, both business and private. Though deployments of their network are still being implemented at a high rate (meaning that many cities/communities throughout the country have yet to be brought under the CLEAR umbrella), there are nonetheless many millions already using latest-generation mobile standards to their fullest effect. Many millions will likely follow soon as deployments continue considering the fact that these latest-generation wireless internet networks pump data speeds out that rival and even exceed (in many cases) those boasted by the biggest fiber-optics companies.
